Meet our Head Trainer

Roy Crane

Flying has been a lifelong passion and I realised the dream in my 30s. It’s the freedom of flight and the characters I’ve met along the way that keep me looking skyward.

I’ve trained people from all walks of life to fly helicopters of all sizes. I’m a flight examiner with commercial and instructor ratings in multiple countries and have flown the great and the good across New Zealand and beyond. I’m also a rescue diver and have dived on most continents.

Life is unpredictable. Bad things happen to good people. I’ve seen how vital marine and aviation safety training can be when the unexpected strikes. I love teaching our underwater escape programs, delivering realistic, scenario-based training to both first-timers and seasoned professionals in a fun, positive way.
