Is there parking available on site?
Unfortunately, parking is limited but not to worry there is plenty of parking available on
the street.
What do you need to bring with you?
Please bring your own towel and wet bag for your clothes. Overalls, safety helmets, water shoes and lifejackets are all provided as part of your course fee.
What does the format of the day look like?
The day starts with a classroom-based session and then moves to the pool for in water activities which includes the use of a simulator to practice evacuation and sea survival techniques.
For the practical training you will be put into groups. Once your group has completed the practical part of the course you are welcome to leave.
What are the facilities provided?
Our Marine Safety Training Facility has bathrooms, changing rooms including showers for both male and female and a dedicated classroom that sits alongside the in-ground pool. Bottled water is available for course participants.
How early should I be there before the course start time?
Your course starts promptly at 8.30am with doors open from 8.15am please aim to be there for then and factor for traffic. For those travelling from across or out of town and early arrivals, you’re welcome to head inside and wait as soon as one of our team are on-site.
What health and safety requirements do I need to sit the course?
A Hutchwilco Marine Safety Training Self Declaration and Media Screening Form is required prior to the course. The course has both physically demanding and potentially stressful elements to it. It’s essential that participants are physically and mentally capable of participating in all aspects of the course.
If you are not well or fatigued in any way prior to the course please contact us at your earliest convenience.
*We reserve the right to request a Media Certificate from your medical provider should it be needed to ensure your health and safety whilst on the course.
How often do I need to complete the course to remain current?
Your qualification is valid for 2 years from date of your certificate on completion of the course.
