The Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Training is a specialised course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely use a CA-EBS during helicopter travel.
This course ensures compliance with industry standards and enhances safety by preparing participants to respond effectively to emergency situations.
Course Description:
The course focuses on understanding the key principles of CA-EBS, including its operation, limitations, and emergency procedures. Through a combination of theory and practical exercises, participants will gain confidence in deploying the equipment in simulated emergency scenarios, ensuring readiness for real-world situations.

Introduction and overview of SCUBA principles
Introduction, care and safe use of HEEDs 3 devices
Use of EBS in the event of ditching / capsizing
Review prior incidents and leaning outcomes

Be medically and physically fit to attend.
Who should Attend
This training is strongly recommended for personnel, pilots & crew travelling in a helicopter, over a body of water and suitable for people who have never used CA-EBS equipment before. Experienced users of this equipment may join the course to revise their skills.
Location: 96 Kerwyn Ave, East Tamaki, Auckland
Parking: Unfortunately there is not parking available onsite however, there’s plenty of parking available on the street.
Medical screening: Course participants must complete a medical screening form prior to the course and seek medical advice if affected by any of the conditions listed.
Course includes:
All PPE & equipment – water shoes, water helmet, overalls, lifejacket & CA-EBS.
You are welcome to bring your own CA-EBS for personal familiarity if you prefer.
Please bring:
Your own swimming clothes, comfortable to wear under overalls or if you prefer, swim shorts and t/rash shirt to be worn without donning overalls.
A towel and bag for your wet clothes.
