The Sea Kayak Survival Training is a theory and practical based course, intended for both beginners and developing paddlers. This training teaches the essential skills of sea kayaking while building the confidence, technique, and knowledge needed to paddle safely and effectively on the water.
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge to read conditions, equip recommended safety gear, and plan your day out. With a focus on practical scenarios, participants will leave the training with the skills to safely exit a kayak in deep water, recover after a capsize, and ensure safety and survival in emergency situations
Learning Outcomes
Understand sea kayak equipment, design, and appropriate clothing choices for safe and comfortable paddling.
Prepare a sea kayak safely, including correct kayak setup and fitting.
Demonstrate fundamental paddling skills, including forward, reverse, sideways movement, turning, steering, and rudder use.
Apply techniques to maintain kayak stability and control, including support strokes and maneuvering skills.
Respond safely to capsize situations by performing wet exits and participating in kayak recovery procedures.

Parking: Unfortunately there is not parking available onsite however, there’s plenty of parking available on the street.
Medical screening: Course participants must complete a medical screening form prior to the course and seek medical advice if affected by any of the conditions listed.
Course includes:
All PPE & equipment – water shoes, water helmet, overalls, lifejacket & CA-EBS.
You are welcome to bring your own CA-EBS for personal familiarity if you prefer.
Please bring:
Your own swimming clothes, comfortable to wear under overalls or if you prefer, swim shorts and t/rash shirt to be worn without donning overalls.
A towel and bag for your wet clothes.
